Centre ville
The heart of the city of Agadir is young, dynamic and modern. The shopping areas are very different from ancient traditions based on the Moroccan souks, stony paths and makeshift markets. Nevertheless, the various avenues through the city have a pedestrian area where tourists can stroll by restaurants, shops and some craft places.
Avenue des FAR - meaning the Royal Armed Forces - is the most important avenue of the city and is probably the busiest. Nearby are the boulevards Hassan II, August 20, and Mohammed V, wide avenues cut through by the Valley of the Birds, where visitors can experience several different species of animals that inhabit the park. Overall, the architecture is modern and uninteresting, the area around the beach offer a much more pleasant and relaxing environment.
